Garland County Jail Ministry

Our Story

Over 30 Years of Ministry Behind Bars

Since 1991, Garland County Jail Ministry has carried the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the Garland County Detention Center — one life at a time.

How It Began

Founded on Faith in 1991

Garland County Jail Ministry, Inc. was founded in 1991 by a small group of believers who felt a God-given calling to bring the Gospel behind bars. What began as a modest outreach effort has grown, by the grace of God, into a full-time ministry serving every man and woman incarcerated at the Garland County Detention Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

For more than three decades, this ministry has remained steadfast in its singular purpose: to proclaim the soul-saving message of Jesus Christ to those who are incarcerated, to make disciples, and to equip them with the Word of God for life both inside and outside the walls.

Over the years, God has allowed this ministry to witness approximately 20,000 class attendances and nearly 800 professions of faith, salvations, and rededications to Jesus Christ each year. These are not statistics — they are souls, each one precious in the sight of God.

Today, the ministry is supported by a dedicated team of more than 100 staff members who give their time, gifts, and hearts to this work. From weekly Bible studies and personal counseling to providing Study Bibles and connecting individuals with faith-based transitional living programs, the ministry continues to grow in its reach and impact.

What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — the supreme standard for all faith and practice.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each fully God, co-equal and co-eternal.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, and His coming return.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — that all who repent and trust in Jesus Christ are forgiven and born again by the Holy Spirit.

The Church

We believe in the universal Church — the body of Christ — composed of all who have been redeemed by His blood, called to worship, fellowship, and make disciples of all nations.

Eternal Life

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people — the saved to eternal life with God, and the unsaved to eternal separation from Him.
